Maybe I am a strange type of gamer. I love video games but I was never a fan of online multi-player. I want to be engaged in a video game, like I am engaged in a good movie or a good book. I want interesting worlds, fascinating stories and characters and also maybe a thing or two to learn from it. I think game are a great medium for this. But I think the majority of people who become addicted are seeking dopamine hits by setting new high scores and don't care about the storytelling of the campaign all too much.

I just sold my PS5. Recently the more I played GTA Online the less I enjoyed it, then I found myself playing it less and less every day, until one day where a mission was taking a really long time to complete, which made me angry so I pushed the console onto the floor. But thankfully it didn't break, but that was the tipping point for me, so I reset the console to factory settings and put it away. After that I never played it again and today I sold it. I don't miss it at all, so I know I did the right thing :)

I agree with everything you’ve said in this video pretty much. Travelling is good indeed, but people like TheUnrealMan for example are staying in the UK and aren’t going on holidays so they can become super rich and won’t have to return to the UK. It’s definitely possible for people to give up their bad habits and make changes but sadly very few people are ambitious and have a good work ethic.

Eh gaming is fine really, if you have responsibilities then it’s best to at least limit it but I think it’s dumb to just completely quit. This isn’t a hard drug, it’s a hobby. There isnt much to life either for some people, for example where I live there’s absolutely nothing to do and the weather outside is always either stupid hot or really cold. I hang out with my friends at either their house or mine but that’s about it. Hit 120 degrees over here the other day and it’s averaged 115 the entire summer. Don’t even want to go to the lake at that kind of temp

I became addicted to old Runescape and did badly in my A levels and social life. Was heavily emotionally attached to the story and music, places etc. Luckily even ingame I was bit of a loner. I managed to basically say to myself "the game is dead" and quit for a while. After new updates I couldn't go back because it had changed in ways I didn't like. So I was more or less saved for a while. Now after years I've gone back to gaming small offline games. Then I start looking for a small social game platform like club penguin. I find palia, thought couldn't do much harm. Then I come across Elder scrolls online and am tempted again. Its like all the painful lessons have been forgotten. Sigh.

Dude. If you've ever had a Saturday alone (when you have a family) and you put 2-3 hours into gaming about an hour after you get out of bed, you realize that watching this short is a waste of time. Because........ A) you're already bored of the game. Find a fucking new one B) you have other shit to do, like cut the grass, do some laundry, wash some dishes. C) but I'm still here, watching and commenting on this garbage. D) I turn this off, stop commenting and.............................................. Cut the grass . E) I hate commenting on videos, but I'm doing it anyways. F) I've already cut the grass, done the dishes, fapped, I still have 4 hours to go G) if I have nothing to do, aside from organizing the garage, cleaning my basement, selling some shit that's taking up WAY too much space, tell my wife I love her and how much she means to me, vacuum the pool, pressure wash the deck, help my parents move, help my brother in law build a gazebo, play some music (jam) with my BEST friends, fap again, crack a beer, make sure the trash and recycling are on the curb, DON'T Puke in the sink, puke in the toilet, feed the dog, make sure he's taken his antibiotics for his most recent hotspot, pet the dog, LOVE the dog, because the dog will only be alive for another 4 years MAX, make sure you don't forget about the upcoming ultrasound for your unborn baby, and then, cut the grass again, get the weed whacker out, whack those fucking weeds. Z) realize that your problems are NOTHING compared to the less fortunate. Ab) fuck you dude.

Games became $70+, subscriptions to multiplayer gaming went up as well, it just seems like its becoming a hobby for the more affluent. Switched to Retro gaming, but even then I felt like I was wasting my life force as an adult.
